Queer Eye's sassy grooming expert Jonathan Van Ness is now embarking on a successful career in stand-up comedy. Van Ness started his career as a hairdresser in Arizona before moving to Los Angeles, California in 2009 where he still works and resides. From 2013-17, after a chance encounter with Funny or Die employee Erin Gibson, Van Ness starred in Gay of Thrones, the Game of Thrones parody web series which was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Short Form Variety Series in 2018. Van Ness' career really blew up in 2018 with the Netflix revival of Queer Eye, which also raised awareness of his weekly podcast Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness which he has presented since 2015. As in-house grooming expert on Queer Eye, Van Ness stars as a member of the show's 'Fab 5' alongside Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Karamo Brown and Bobby Berk and is renowned for his relentless energy and witty sarcasm. Any time in his company is bound to be a hoot.
